Aldersgate Renewal Ministries-UK (ARM-UK) is committed to equipping the local church to minister to the world in the power of the Holy Spirit. We are an independent charity (Registered Charity Number 1168429), but work strictly within the framework of the discipline of the Methodist Church and in accordance with it’s statement of beliefs.

Our Mission

To equip the local church to minister to the world in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 4:11 reminds us that God gave gifts to the Body of Christ to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ. ARM-UK seeks to nurture, educate and equip individuals and churches to minister in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Without the Holy Spirit, the wounded keep on being wounded, the hurt keep on hurting, and the aimless continue to wander. Without the Holy Spirit, the captives remain captive, the spiritually blind continue in blindness, and the spiritually deaf continue in silence. Without the Holy Spirit, prayers remain unproductive and ineffective, worship remains weak, mediocrity is propelled, and potentials are not reached. Without the Holy Spirit, instead of fulfilling the Great Commission, the church ends up sitting like the lame one at the Gate Beautiful begging from the world just to survive.

Picture instead, God supernaturally, and uniquely at work in every local church, drawing people to Himself, building His church, advancing His Kingdom, turning the world upside down.

What we believe

We adhere to the doctrinal standards of the Methodist Church as set out in the Deed of Union.

  • We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit in Methodist Church History
  • We believe in the example of John Wesley’s life and ministry testifying to the work of the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the Pentecostal and Charismatic movements through the Wesleyan framework.
  • We believe in sensitivity in discerning of the Holy Spirit, as God works differently through His children.

Our Strategy

To serve the local church by providing dynamic learning experiences that educate participants to live in the power of the Holy Spirit.

ARM-UK aims to strengthen the church with a strategy of team-led renewal events tailored to the spiritual needs of the local congregation. ARM-UK offers tools to help the local church establish a vibrant prayer, worship and faith-sharing life fuelled by the power of the Holy Spirit. To individuals, ARM-UK offers learning experiences that teach about the integral ministry of the Holy Spirit who empowers them to pray, worship and to share their faith journey, carrying on the ministry of Jesus.

  • Over the weekend I felt relaxed, enjoying being able to partake rather than take a part! This morning however the power of the weekend for me was revealed. On my way for coffee I was stopped by someone seeking prayer ministry, she never made it to the team, instead fell into my arms. I can not begin to describe what happened next, least to say The Power of the Holy Spirit seemed to move through my body with a power, and release which I have never experienced before. I found myself praying in tongues in a new and amazing way, I could hear and speak out the words God had for the person, and gently, but undoubtedly we were both brought to the floor. I know that God had been using the weekend to both prepare me, and equip me for this experience, praise God!

  • I am thrilled that the Holy Spirit came with such power. I have been praying for this for years!

  • LISE was the catalyst for change in many people’s lives in our church. Through this amazing experience the Holy Spirit touched and transformed lives, the faith of individuals has been enriched and strengthened and, for the church as a whole, a new depth of fellowship with each other through our love of Christ has been formed.

  • I reluctantly attended my first LISE, and received answers to questions I didn’t even know I was asking!  It was a serious but wonderful life-changing experience, one that I have been able to build on, and one which has changed my life and ministry.

  • I’ve had two difficult years with illness and bereavement. I came not knowing what would happen. I went for prayer with Kim & Alison and felt my burdens lifted. God is encouraging and strengthening me.

  • Didn’t know what to expect, but it was wonderful.
I went home on Friday night with a smile on my face. I was told on Saturday that it would only get better. And it did!
I’ve been a Christian since my teens when I went to a YfC event. Over the years I have slipped away at times, but God has always been there. I was drawn to Mark & Adam as a prayer team who prayed and anointed me and I felt alive! Later, in the evening, there was an invitation to receive the Holy Spirit. I confessed my sins, knew I was forgiven and did receive the Holy Spirit. I have recently felt unworthy and had stopped leading intercessions, but now I feel worthy again. It’s like a veil has been lifted. During the prayer tunnel on Sunday morning I heard someone pray over me, “precious daughter of God”. Yes I am!

  • To witness God’s unconditional love pouring out to us through the Spirit opening hearts to all of God’s blessings and truth was amazing. It’s great to see that people are still continuing to be led by the spirit and sharing their love for Jesus two years on!

  • I’ve had significant personal problems for some time. I went to the front of church for prayer at the end of the service a few weeks ago. As I was speaking about my problems a lump like a led pellet developed in my throat and I couldn’t continue. I went to Mark & Adam for prayer and experienced the same thing except this time it felt like a canon ball. They took me to the cross to pray and told me to picture Jesus. I left that canon ball with him and now I feel great.

  • I have been looking forward to this mission ever since it was arranged.
I really liked the way the weekend was formatted. The combination of teaching, worship and prayer was lovely and totally non threatening – no feeling of being pressured in any way. The team were great and the prayer times wonderful – really encouraged people to go forward for prayer
The book is very instructive and I think will be very good to use in small groups.
In the 21 day preparation schedule the themes of humility and prayer kept coming through to me
It has been a marvelous weekend and I feel so very blessed but also a bit overwhelmed by the wonderful things I heard when you and Bobby prayed over me. I really pray that we will see great new things in our Church and in many other places where you will be taking LISE.

  • I don’t have the words to express what Saturday did for me. I do a lot of contemplative prayer and I was definitely NOT going to come to the weekend, but a voice within me just wouldn’t let it go. The Holy Spirit kept coming to mind. I decided I would come on Saturday and just stay until lunch. At lunch I had no peace, so I decided to stay until tea. Still no peace. Eventually I stayed for the whole day. I experienced great fellowship and love and I would have missed it all if it wasn’t for God’s Spirit moving me.

  • God’s timing was perfect. It gave me a great sense of hope for our church and I was personally refreshed. It drew us closer together as a church.
